Blueprint Format and Herringbone Installs
Posted by waltrettie on April 23, 2025 at 12:43 amJoe, Can you take Powerpoint presentations or just Jpegs? I have a “blueprint” in a .ppt but can convert it to Jpeg if you want. I just don’t want to waste more time with the “free” programs that I can’t get to work. Do you want these blueprints with or without dimensions? Also, do you have any instructions on installing in a herringbone pattern?

Walt, send me the the powerpoint. I do not need any dimensions on the drawing.

Joe, did you get my Powerpoint file? If not, I can re-send it. I would like your input on which way I should run my flooring and where to start.
Thanks,

Okay, Here it comes. I’m planning on installing Flooret Modin LVP in a Lato Craftsman flavor (the narrow-plank flooring option). I’m planning on putting it pretty much everywhere (horizontal and below … uh… foot-level…) If, for some reason, you can’t open the .ppt file, just let me know and I’ll resend it as a .jpg . It would be awesome if you could tell me how YOU would install it (I’m guessing parallel to the hallway) and where you would start (I honestly have no idea). Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
Okay – you’re program isn’t letting me attach anything. I guess I’ll try through e-mail.

Joe,
I just finished reviewing your video and have the following inputs:
1. I am planning on installing the flooring throughout my house including the kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms. I’m not planning, however, on installing it in the garage.
2. I believe an East-West orientation would be the best for my house. I’ll just set up some plastic pins at the end of the hallway to complete my bowling alley simulation… (grin)
3. I believe starting in the Dining Room is a smashing idea! That way when I come around the wall to the Living Room, the plank lands in front of the fireplace and a floor vent. I know you like to install that area last.
4. I’m not planning on installing the flooring until late fall/winter, so don’t jump through any hoops on my account. We have lots of time.
Thank you for all the help! Lord knows I need it. Please let me know if you have any questions.
